ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION - MAINE CHAPTER

The Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter serves the entire state and is there to help. They provide education and support to all those facing Alzheimer’s and other dementias including those living with the disease, caregivers, families, and health care professionals. They advocate for the needs and rights of those facing dementia. They work to advance critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure.

MAINE LONG TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN

Advocating for quality of life and care for long term care consumers with federal and state law authority to investigate complaints made by or on behalf of long-term care consumers and to assist consumers in exercising their rights that are guaranteed by law.

MAINE MEMORY CAFES

Maine memory cafes are monthly social gatherings of individuals with memory loss along with their caregivers, or friends and family in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

MAINE'S AREA AGENCIES ON AGING

Maine’s five Area Agencies on Aging offer older adult home-based care services, support for caregivers, caregiver training, senior information counselors, meals on wheels, adult day care, plus many other services. Maine has five AAAs.

MAINE'S CARE PARTNER SUPPORTS

Maine’s five Area Agencies on Aging provide federal and state grant funds to provide respite, caregiver training, support groups, case management, home modifications, and other services to qualifying caregivers.

MAINE'S LEGAL SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY

Provides free, legal assistance to Maine residents age 60 and older

STATE OF MAINE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES - OFFICE OF AGING AND DISABILITY SERVICES

The Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) supports Maine's older and disabled adults by providing Adult Protective, Brain Injury, Other Related Conditions, Intellectual and Developmental Disability, Long Term Care, and Aging and Community services to the people of Maine.
