Darron Kidwell

Darron Kidwell has volunteered with the Alzheimer's Association since 2015, serving on Walk To End Alzheimer's Planning Committee and as Community Educator. He served as a Federal Advocate to Congressman Tim Burchett as advocate of behalf of TN Congressional District 2 to promote the passage and implementation of Alzheimer's/Dementia related legislation to improve lives of those in Tennessee and across the nation affected by this disease. As a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones since 2014, Darron has seen the devastating financial effects dementia has on clients and their families. Darron and his husband David (he/him) live in Knoxville. Darron’s Dad, Leon, lived with Alzheimer's for 7 years before passing away in November 2022. His mom, Frances, served as primary caregiver until her passing June 2021.

Darron has a passion to serve and educate the community about the resources that are available to help them on the Alzheimer's journey - whether living with or providing care or honoring/remembering those who have lost their battle. “Caregiving presented unique challenges with my dad due to the family not accepting my husband as a member of the family. This made it difficult for him to understand what I was going through as a caregiver, and he was excluded from all interactions with my dad to understand the progress of this disease. My goal is to educate and support the community in any way I can.”
