Harlyn Jones Hardin
Harlyn Hardin is the Program Director for the Tennessee Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. Ms. Hardin has over 20 years of experience in community and public health education and outreach. She has served as the Assistant Director of the Tennessee Department of Health-Ryan White Program, as well as a Field Director for the Mid Markets and Eastern Division of the American Diabetes Association.
Harlyn has devoted extensive personal and professional time addressing health disparities for people that are socially and economically disadvantaged and has worked tirelessly, exhausting connections from every sector of the health community to provide resources that are needed to equip and empower individuals in obtaining optimal health.
As a caregiver for her mother who suffers from an array of health issues, Ms. Hardin has a personal understanding of the impact caregiving can have on families. As Program Director of the Alzheimer’s Tennessee Support and Care Division, she is committed to uplifting dementia families across Tennessee by providing continual education and connections to valuable support resources. Harlyn is honored to have the opportunity to play an integral role in the Alzheimer’s Association’s effort to eliminate Alzheimer’s and all other forms of dementia-freeing the world of this awful disease!
Ms. Hardin is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated, Nashville Health Disparities Coalition, and STRONG ME, Incorporated.
Lastly, Harlyn is a lover of all things family, friends, church and travel. She lives by her favorite quote- “Don’t let someone dim your light simply because it’s shining in their eyes!”
