Lisa Segler, PhD, MPH, CHES
Three Square Food Bank
As Director of Strategic Initiatives at Three Square Food Bank, Dr. Lisa Segler is responsible for overseeing multiple departments that focus on special populations by connecting the unconnected to food and other resources through programming, education, and policy. She is also responsible for creating innovative healthcare partnerships, and conducting research to better understand the barriers and facilitators of food security to end hunger in Southern Nevada.
She graduated from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas in 2019 with a PhD in Public Health and 2011 with a Master of Public Health degree. She has been a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) since 2011. Dr. Segler has co-authored several peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals and continues to work on original research projects. She has presented at a variety of regional and national health conferences, including the American Public Health Association. She has also been an active member of the Nevada Public Health Association since 2009, which includes a three-year presidential term.
Dr. Segler brings over 14 years of public health, leadership, research, and partnership building to her role, having previously worked on health issues concerning aging adults, minority populations, childhood obesity, and college students.
