Susan Long
Susan Long recently served as the Director of the CAC Office on Aging, a position that she held for over six years. In that role she oversaw a variety of programs which served Knoxville and Knox County older adults. These programs included: Mobile Meals, O’Connor Senior Center, Daily Living Center Adult Day Program, Case Management, PAWS (Placing Animals with Seniors), Senior Employment/SCSEP, Grandparents as Parents, Rise Above Crime Elder Abuse Program, Senior Companions, Foster Grandparents, RSVP, Senior Information & Referral, and East Tennessee 2-1-1.
Ms. Long has worked in senior services for over 37 years, beginning her career in supportive senior housing. She managed three assisted living facilities in East Tennessee before joining Baptist Health System as Director of Senior Services. Ms. Long worked for over nine years with Baptist overseeing the Baptist Senior Health Centers, Baptist Senior Plus Program and Philips Lifeline.
After leaving Baptist Health System, Ms. Long began her work with East Tennessee Personal Care Service providing in-home caregivers to the growing market of older adults who wish to remain in their own homes.
Susan holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Marketing from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She is a member of Sequoyah Hills Presbyterian Church, serves on the AARP East Tennessee Advisory Board and the Board of Directors of Tennessee Memory Disorders Foundation.
Susan is married to David W. Long, an attorney with Long, Ragsdale & Waters, PC. They are parents of Wilson Long and Elizabeth Adkins.
